This quote is a description of a ship…

“Her standard rigging, tarred black for protection against the salt sea, rose above me, dark ladders to an increasingly dark sky, and indeed, her royal yard seemed lost in the lowering night.”

A. The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi

B. Bloody Jack by L.A. Meyer

c. Pirates! by Celia Rees

What can I say? I’ve been on a voyage/pirate books kick lately. I have To Catch a Pirate by Jade Parker to thank for that. It was a cute book. Fluffy, but undoubtedly cute and a great beach read. :D

“Outside the air was raw, a reminder that winter was not done.”

A. The Lost Queen by Frewin Jones

B. The Legend of Holly Claus by Brittany Ryan

C. Lioness Rampant by Tamora Pierce

On a side note…I can’t wait for school to end. I’ve been at it since August. I need a break. Badly. This summer should be great. I intend to finish a first draft of a new novel, finish editing my current one, read, sleep late, go to the beach to surf and swim and goof off, and play absolutely no softball whatsoever. This summer should be fabulous. :D

B. A Song for Summer by Eva Ibottson

C. A Year Down Yonder by Richard Peck

I got back from South Carolina about two and a half hours ago. I’m telling you, travel is exausting. But at least everything went without a hitch. I had a great time with my sister. We both cried when we said good bye at the airport. :( She’s truly an awesome sister.

Anilee’s Edward and Jacob rants are fabulous. If you haven’t read them, do so now. They’re just so funny. And true. :D

So…a quote… Here we go…

“I felt…I felt shattered. As if part of me had been torn away.”

1. Just Ella by Margaret Peterson Haddix

2. East by Edith Pattou

3. Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier

Okay.

So.

Let the games begin. There are just a couple rules. One guess per person and no using google or any such search engine. (We’re going by the honor system here.) Once all three possible answers have been guessed, I will reveal the winner. Here we go…

“I clean up nicely, don’t I?”

A) Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

B) The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner

C) Crown Duel/Court Duel by Sherwood Smith
