Here’s a meme where your opinion gets to be heard! Here are the rules:
1. Copy and paste the blank form into your blog twice, only fill in one.
2. Fill in the blanks with whatever you think is the appropriate answer, bold your answer if you wish. And they don’t exactly have to make sense.
3. Add one more item to the meme
4. Tag 4 people and comment on their blogs

———-
I think it should be mandatory for each household to have different rooms for different siblings.
I think the President should name August 22nd Hug a Fictional Character day.
I think stop signs should be a different color, I think they should be vermilion, a more elegant form of red.
I think that annoying people are wasting America’s time, and we should pretend we live in an alternate universe from them
I think that fashionable clothing is okay I suppose. If you roll that way.
I think writing essays is fun if you can be extra snarky about it.
I would never pretend that I actually know what the heck I’m doing in my life.
I find people to be generally fascinating, whether they’re annoying or not.
I’m pretty sure that everyone I know has been tagged, so if you have been missed and you’re reading this, consider yourself tagged.

Here are the rules: I am going to list three categories of books. 3 MUST Read Books, 3 Keep Your Eyes on These, and 3 Look For These Soon. Keeping with the theme, I am going to tag at least 3 bloggers. They should put these same lists on their blog but SUBTRACT one book from each list and ADD one of their own. Then they should tag at least 3 more bloggers. It will be fun to see how the lists change as they go around the blogosphere. Please come back to this post and leave a comment so I can see how the lists are changing.
Since this is Book Buzz…please keep your lists to titles released in 2007-2009.
So, here goes…[asterisks are next to my additions]
MUST read books:
Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale
Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow by Jessica Day George *
Undercover by Beth Kephart
Keep your eyes on these:
The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen
Ten Cents a Dance by Christine Fletcher *
Rapunzel’s Revenge by Shannon Hale
Look for these soon:
Cybele’s Secret by Juliette Marillier
Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke *
The Smile by Donna Jo Napoli
I’ll tag Taiger, Rebecca Joy, and Delaney.
P.S. Check the Snippets page.
A Fond Farewell and a (very fun) Meme August 27, 2008

Tomorrow I’m leaving for Maryland. I really wasn’t that excited until I learned that I would get to see my writing coach and second cousin. I haven’t seen her in a while, so this should actually be a lot of fun. We’ll get to talk about writing and her fiancé. Fun stuff.
Anyway, I’ll be back sometime on Tuesday. I have no idea what time the flight is. As a matter of fact, I have no idea when the flight is tomorrow. Well, that just goes to show you how much I pay attention. I guess the other plus side to going (besides getting to see my beloved cousin) is I don’t have to do school tomorrow, Friday, Monday, or Tuesday. But then again, that’s a little sad. Starting school has put a bit of structure into my life, and I was in severe need of it. I actually don’t mind school this year. (Though I refuse to like trigonometry and chemistry. Ick.)
Okay, I stole this from Danielle because it looks like fun…
I am: more than slightly crazy
I know: I love God, and He loves me.
I have: ten people living in my house right now.
I wish: I could have one day all to myself.
I hate: spiders. (No offense, Spider!)
I miss: my sister when she goes away.
I fear: my future.
I feel: passionately.
I hear: baby Jayson laughing.
I smell: like sweet pea body lotion from Bath and Body Works.
I crave: pita bread pizzas and bruschetta.
I search: for ways to make myself a better person.
I wonder: if I’ll ever publish a novel.
I regret: nothing. Absolutely nothing. I’ve learned.
I love: God, my friends, my family, books, and writing.
I am not: crazy about shopping for pants. (I hate despise, loathe, and abhor shopping for pants.
I believe: that Christ died for me.
I dance: in the rain.
I sing: when I’m happy and in the rain.
I cry: when during sad parts in books and movies. And even during the happy parts. (Queen of Attolia.)
I don’t always: hear people if they talk to me while I’m reading or writing.
I fight: against my room. (Danielle!)
I write: a lot.
I win: by looking at Coke lids. (I have won so many things by doing that.)
I lose: at sports other than softball or tennis.
I never: want to live by the beach. (At least in Florida. I’ve seen what hurricanes do to homes on the coast.)
I always: dream
I confuse: myself and everyone around me.
I listen: carefully.
I can usually be found: at the library, bookstore, and my room.
I am scared: of “growing up.”
I need: to be a happier and nicer person.
I am happy about: the knowledge that I can learn to be a happier and nicer person.
I imagine: what it’s going to be like to be “all grown up.”
I tag anyone who wants to do this. It’s a lot of fun.
See you all on Tuesday!

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your summer. Post these instructions in your blog along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they’re listening to.
1. “Awake” – Josh Groban
2. “Chasing Cars” – Snow Patrol
3. “Hanging by a Moment” – Lifehouse
4. “My Girl” – the Temptations
5. “Everything” – Michael Buble
6. “Kiss the Girl” – the original Disney version
7. “The Broken Road” – Rascal Flatts
Seven people seems like a lot to tag, so I tag Danielle and Leanna.

I believe I’ve been tagged by Felicity, Leanna, and Spider…
RULES:
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people and post a comment to the person who tagged you once you’ve posted your three sentences.
Oh, look. The nearest book appears to be Jane Eyre.
I sat down quite disembarrassed. A reception of finished politeness would probably have confused me. I could not have returned or repaid it by answering grace and elegance on my part.
I’m pretty sure that everyone I know has been tagged. But if I missed you, consider yourself tagged.
Oh, and if you look at the recent comments on the sidebar, you’ll see that the non-wordpress people now have an avatar.
When I Was Young and Stupid… March 27, 2008

Rules:
1. Follow this format.
2. Copy/Paste the rules.
3. State who tagged you and add a link to their blog.
4. Write 5 crazy things you did as a little kid.
5. Tag 5 people.
1. When I was six, I decided that I should be able to fly. I climbed the magnolia tree in my front lawn, jumped, fell, and landed with a loud and painful thump. (I still have a scar from this adventure.)
2. When I was seven, I was in a rather spiteful mood one day. I purposely let both of my family’s dogs outside then quickly pushed the blame on my younger brother. (I bet ya’ll wish you could’ve had me for a sister.
)
3. I rode in a wagon down a very steep hill in my neighborhood at the age of ten because of a dare.
4. At the age of eleven, I said that Jane Austen was boring and that I’d never like any of her books.
5. I ran after a football that my friend threw. I didn’t watch where I was going and ran smack into a pole. My nose started bleeding. I ran for the bathroom. When I got into the bathroom, I had a horrible realization. I was in the men’s room.
Uh, I think everyone I know has been tagged already. But if you were somehow missed, consider yourself tagged.

I have a question for you lovely readers. On my other (rather secret) blog, every Monday I post a quote. It could be from a book or movie. I then list three possible answers, one of which being the correct one. The readers try to guess the correct answer without using google. (We go by the honor system.) I was just wondering if you guys would like to try that.

In celebration of editing my latest novel, I have decided to post the first two sentences, the last two sentences, and a randomly selected conversation from the middle.
First two sentences: Being different never bothered Caia when she young. She had no time to think about it.
Last two sentences: Getting married tonight sounds like a rather good idea, Caia thought. And so they did.
And a conversation selected at random:
Caia collapsed on the ground. “Jace, please, I’m so tired. I can’t walk anymore. I need to rest.”
Jace pulled her back up. “No, try to keep going. We’re almost there.”
Caia rolled her eyes. “Fine.”
“Can you at least make up your mind to be in a good mood?”
“No.”
Jace sighed in defeat. “All right. We’ll rest here for the night.”
Caia’s arms twined around his neck and she demurely looked up at him through her eyelashes. “Thank you.”
Jace pushed her away with an annoyed face. “Don’t do that.”
“Do what?”
“Look at me innocently like that.”
Caia laughed. “You do it all the time.”
“What?”
“You drop you head and look up at me with this unblinking expression that gives the impression of false modesty. If I didn’t find you so attractive, I would find it sickening.”
Jace rolled his eyes dramatically. “You and your big words. Go to sleep, Caia.”
Six Random Things March 20, 2008
Posted by Jess in Meme.13 comments
Well, not too long ago I was tagged to say seven random things about myself. Now I’ve been tagged to do six more. At this rate there will no longer be any mystery about myself. Then all you lovely readers will get bored. So without further ado, I shall list six random things about myself whilst staying shrouded in mystery.
1. I’m very, very happy that Anilee has converted to Josh Grobanism. As a result, there have been some pretty crazy conversations flying around LRRH. I can’t not laugh while I’m logged in. I can’t help it. It’s so funny.
2. I’m wearing dark green cargo shorts, a white scoop neck top, and white ankle socks rimmed with pale green. (I’m sure you wanted to know that.
)
3. While I was playing with my sister earlier she said that I have big feet. Hmm…
4. I went swimming about a week ago for the first time since November. The water was nice.
5. I love chick flicks.
6. I have six seemingly permanent scars. Two on my left leg, one the right, one across my stomach, and two on my right arm. All six came from eight years of fastpitch softball.
It seems like everyone that I know has been tagged. But if you haven’t been, consider yourself tagged.
Seven Random Things March 11, 2008

Seven random things, huh? *is wondering what deliciously diabolical facts she can come up with*
1. I have more nicknames than should be legal. Prepare to be blown away. Fairy Feet, Sugar May, Lil’ pumpkin, Cherry Cheeks, Her Radiance, Miss Everything, Chicky, Chiquita. I have several more that are different variations of my name and middle name.
2. In the mood for a thrill, I once jumped off of my roof and into the pool. Good times.
3. I made a cake a few years ago, and as I was taking the pan to place it in the oven, I slipped in a puddle of water. Cake batter flew everywhere. It was on the wall, in the sink, on the floor, and all over me. Ironically, this incident is how I was dubbed Fairy Feet.
4. I can play a few piano songs in an extremely awkward position. I lay on my back on the bench so that my head is underneath the piano. I reach up with my hands and find “middle C” then begin playing. I did this once at a party. Now my family holds the incriminating video they have of this event as leverage.
5. When I was about eight, I spent three or four weeks in Spain with my family. We went to Madrid, Segovia, Toledo, Seville, Barcelona, and Alicante. We attended a Flamenco dance which was about the coolest thing ever. I want to go back so badly to see friends and practice my Spanish.
6. There is an incredibly annoying stool in my house which I always manage to trip over. I think I’ve set a record new record though. I haven’t tripped or stumbled over it for at least a week now. Drat. I probably just cursed my good luck now…
7. I wouldn’t want to marry the handsome, stuck-up prince in an elaborate wedding. I’d elope with the poor farm boy instead. (Besides, I don’t think I could handle being royalty.)
I’ll tag whoever hasn’t done this yet.
Book Titles Meme March 9, 2008

Got this from Bohae…
Rules: Write the first word in the title of the book you’re reading right now (if you’re reading several, please just choose one*). Then format the first word so that the letters have a separate line (yes, you’re right: an acrostic poem type thing). Choose a phrase for each letter that describes the book. Characters, places, and even types of food is fine. It just has to be something from the book. Here’s mine:
Evil stepsisters.
Lovely Prince Char.
Loony fairies.
Amazingly hilarious heroine.
(Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine.)
I’ll tag Maribeth and Ennagirl.

I thought it would take a while to come up with something, but surprisingly this came right to mind.
What to do with my life?
Yeah, that sums me up rather well.
But then I thought of this about five seconds later. I’ll dedicate it to Anilee because she had a hand in this.
I’m engaged to Kartik the Daffodil.
I’ll tag Ennagirl, Fantasy, and Spider.
