We all have moments September 16, 2009

We all have moments. All of us. It’s part of being a person. So unless you’re some google bot or yahoo bot or whatever, you’ve had a moment. But then, maybe even google bots have moments. Whatever. That’s not the point. The point is that I had a moment earlier during Physics. So far I find physics to be almost insultingly easy. I’m sure it won’t stay that way. I mean, I’ve only been back in school for a months. Gah! I keep getting away from my point. Okay, here it is. Today I realized that I am not an interesting person. Nope. I’m not even a different sort of person. I am a teenage girl. I love Facebook and eyeliner and chocolate and I’m very conscious of my weight. (Okay, that last part is really my mother’s fault. See, I lost a lot of weight over the summer. It royally freaked my mother out, and she’s been trying to put more weight back on me. Again, not the point.) This time a couple years ago, I would have sworn to have nothing to do with Facebook or eyeliner. Now I use Facebook more than any other website. (Yet somehow I manage to not be addicted.) I wear eyeliner all the time. I feel weird without it. (And okay, I might maybe kinda sorta like a little lip gloss too.) But see? I’m a teenage girl. I feel much less interesting. So normal. Okay, normal is a stretch for me. But still.
Not there’s anything uninteresting about teenage girls. I’ve just never found them to be terribly fascinating. No, I don’t really get along well with other teenagers, if that’s what you were wondering.
But even that is something that I’ve gotten much better at.
So there it is. I am a teenager girl.
Have I mentioned that I love to shop? That I love to get new clothes almost as much as I love to get new books? See, books are my first and true love and I would (almost) always pick them over clothes. Well, it depends on the book. I’d pick the new Attolia book over a new skirt, but I would most certainly get a new skirt over the sequel to The Host. Yes, my dears, you head my correctly. There is going to be a sequel to The Host. Hmm? You don’t think a sequel is necessary? Oh, I completely agree. *glares in Stephenie Meyer’s general direction * Ah, well. Whatever floats her boat, I suppose. Hehe. I am “chagrined” at there being a sequel.
My favorite author in the world is Megan Whalen Turner. My favorite book in the whole wide world is The Queen of Attolia. Just thought I’d get that out there.
Hmm, I think my next blog post will be some book recommendations and some non-recommendations. I’ve read quite a few winners and losers lately. I’m not saying losers to be mean. I’m just saying it as the opposite of winners.
Okay, I hear some banana bread and some fluffy historical fiction (Nicola and the Viscount.) calling my name.

Ha…so far, Calculus has been slightly challenging, but overall, I *think* I’m actually getting it. It makes me look forward to the time when I can take Physics. I might actually learn something.
I want to love shopping, but…to a certain extent, I suppose I do. I love getting new clothes, but I’m not a fan of the crowds and the “Only six garments per fitting room” and all that stuff.
It’s balance, Jess. I still wouldn’t consider you normal because you loved to read before Twilight (;-)), but I think it’s important to have something (or multiple things) that tie you to the rest of the world.
I still haven’t read The Host (originally, I typed The Hose; feel free to imagine
)….I guess I will someday (since I own it).
Yes, I could also do without the crowds and the six garment rule. Sheesh, what if I want to try on a lot of stuff? Honestly.
The Hose. Hahaha. I might have to figure what that’s about.
…..
Okay, so the alien thingy mcbobs come and insert themselves into hoses rather than people. Then the hoses go all psycho and start spraying people. Then they go even more psycho and start strangling people. But then there’s this one hose who falls in love with a person. And now we are set for another story of impossible love.
And we should throw a kraken into the mix because, as I’m sure you know, it’s not a good story without a love triangle.
Is the Host a better speciment of Stephenie Meye’s writing? I see it on sale everywhere…
Eh…I suppose it’s better written. (There’s no endless Edward description.) I don’t think the writing is particuarly amazing. The plot, the writing, the characters were all boring to me. Not to mention some over the top dialogue and a couple absolutely disgusting kissing scenes.
